I am a fifth-year Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems at the Robert H. Smith School of Business, University of Maryland, where I am fortunate to be advised by Professor Prof. Kunpeng Zhang. I also collaborated as an external Machine Learning Research Engineer at Pi Health from 2023 to 2026. Before joining the University of Maryland, I earned an M.S. from Johns Hopkins University and dual B.S. degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Renmin University of China.
I am on the 2026-2027 academic job market.
Research Interests
My research focuses on developing AI methodologies that transform unstructured, heterogeneous, and multimodal data into actionable insights for business decision-making, with applications in financial markets and healthcare informatics.
My first research stream develops AI methodologies for analyzing firm communications, such as disclosures to investors, regulators, and the public. This work emphasizes methodological innovation in leveraging large language models (LLMs) and agentic AI systems to improve the reliability and scalability of financial text analytics, enabling more informed managerial and investment decision-making.
My second research stream develops efficient and transparent AI systems for electronic health record (EHR) processing and clinical decision support. By integrating retrieval-augmented generation and evidence-grounded reasoning, I aim to improve the reliability of AI-assisted healthcare applications and ultimately enhance clinical practice and patient well-being.
I am also interested in AI diffusion and labor markets. My third research stream examines how organizations adopt AI and formulate AI strategies. Through large-scale analyses of billions of online job postings and firm disclosures, I study how organizations invest in AI-related human capital, communicate their AI initiatives, and translate AI adoption into organizational capabilities.
